
Anatoliy Grigoryevich was born on October 24, 1927 in the city of Orekhovo- Zuevo located in Moscow Region. His father, Grigoriy Ivanovich worked as a mechanic for most of his life at the local Orekhovskiy Peat Plant. His mother was a housewife. Altogether, Anatoliy’s parents brought up 9 children.
What was life in such a large family like? It was difficult, but everybody got along. Maybe that’s why Anatoliy grew up as a kind and hard working man. Most importantly, his main priorities are reflected in constant overcoming of those difficulties which lie on the way to a greater goal. Being poor during his childhood was dealt with by helping parents at home and on the farm. Lack of knowledge in his youth was overcome with constant strive towards education. Shyness of character was eliminated by active involvement in social life.
In 1943 he was admitted to the mechanical department of Orekhovskiy Peat Technical College, which he graduated with honors in 1947. As a top graduate and an active Komsomol Organization member, Anatoliy was sent to Moscow Peat Institute. One he received his diploma as engineer-mechanic, the young specialist was distributed as part of workforce to Orekhovo-Zuevskiy Peat Plant. Anatoliy worked as a technician of peat gathering, and later was promoted to principal engineer. When Anatoliy was 21, he was admitted to the ranks of the communistic party.
The year was 1953. After September’s congress ion of Moscow’s Central Party Committee, Anatoliy Zhukov was sent to Ivanovo County to work as the principal engineer at the local Tractor Machine Station of Luhskiy Region.
In 1959, Anatoliy Grigoryevich was elected as the secretary of Luhskiy Region Committee of the Communistic Party, and in 1961 he was appointed as the chief of county’s department of road construction and transportation.
In 1963, due to growing demand in road construction specialists, A.Zhukov was sent to study at Moscow’s Automotive Institute program to increase his qualification level. Once again, he completed the courses with honors.
Under Anatoliy Zhukov’s management in the period from 1966 to 1985, colossal amount of work was done in creating production facilities in the field of road transportation. Due to immense accomplishments in road transportation field, Anatoliy was awarded with two orders of The Working Red Banner, order of “Mark of Distinguishment”, medal of “Valiant Labor”, mark of “Distinguished Builder of Russia”, and the honorary title of “Honorable Builder of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic”.
Anatoliy Zhukov also conducts social work – he is the chairman of Ivanovo Veterans of Automotive Road Transportation organization, and also heads the Automotive and Road Museum of Ivanovo Region.
